Hand Sewing Basics @ Bowood Farms

Learn popular hand stitches used in hand sewing and mending with Alexis Giger of Little Cliff, a St. Louis-based mending and clothing repair studio. Students will learn several useful stitches for repairing clothing like running and blanket stitches, as well as fastening techniques for buttons and other closures. Students will create a small sampler of stitches and fastenings, as well as take home their very own stitching kit. Students will leave class with knowledge of the best hand sewing practices for repairing and creating items by hand. Students are encouraged to bring in their own damaged clothing to troubleshoot with Alexis.
